Issue

When a printer and fax instance of an HP Officejet are installed, Photoshop Elements 9 sends the print output to the fax instead of the printer.

Solution

Rename the fax or the printer to avoid similar and long names. For example, if the names are "HP Officejet 6500 E709a Series" and "HP Officejet 6500 E709a Series Fax," change the fax name to "Office Fax." 

Additional information

HP Officejet print driver installers typically have long names (more than 31 characters) that differ toward the end (after 31 characters). When multiple printers are installed, using shorter and different printer names helps Photoshop Elements 9 identify the printer to send the output to.
